Birth Doula Services
As a birth doula I support you, the birthing woman, in your choices, by holding your birthing space in tangible ways, providing physical and emotional comforts. I believe you have the capacity to discover for yourself, your own best way to labor, birth and mother. My goal is to support you and your family as this process unfolds during your pregnancy, birth and postpartum weeks.
I use emotional coaching, relaxation touch for labor, acupressure, position changes and movement for comfort, mindfulness based relaxations, as well as the many tried and true comfort measures for labor. I have an excellent reputation for getting along with care-givers of all types and for helping your other birth support team members be present for you. If you are considering a doula, I hope you will call me for a free hour long consultation. This is a chance for you to interview me. You can ask me about my training and experience. We can go over my contract. I have been a professional, working birth doula since 2003. I take my commitment to my clients very seriously. You can trust me to be there for you.
The fee for my on-call birth doula services is $800. For a $300 deposit, I reserve your on-call time, from 38 weeks through the birth of your baby. The balance of $500 is normally paid at your 38th week of pregnancy. My services include being available to come to you at any time of day and stay for the duration of your birth, until you and your family are comfortably settled and resting. For 5 days following your birth, I remain on-call for postpartum breastfeeding help or to talk about your medical care, particularly if you are remaining in the hospital or home alone. I then arrange one to two postpartum visit so we have a chance to talk about the birth and I can help connect you with any resources you may need. Flexible payment plan arrangements are available for families in need of them.
